State Champions. Made Here.
Private ASA tournament field. Regulation USA Archery bails. Evening sessions. USA Archery Level 3 coaching. Where serious youth and adult competitors prepare to win across Florida.
Where Champions Get Built.
A private tournament field, certified coaching, and precision bow work in one place. The combination simply does not exist at a typical archery shop in Southwest Florida.
Private Tournament Field
Full ASA (Archery Shooters Association) 3D animal-target setup, regulation USA Archery indoor and outdoor target bails, and NFAA-compatible faces for indoor 5-spot and outdoor field rounds — with full field lighting for evening sessions. The entire private facility is yours during your session, no shared lanes.
Process-Based Coaching
USA Archery Level 3 certified. Process-based, technical, individualized. Level 3 is the highest tier focused on long-term archer development — what produces archers who win.
Tuned for Distance
Labradar Doppler radar verifies sight tapes and arrow speed at competition distance. Your bow is tuned for the round you actually shoot, not a 3-foot chronograph reading.
Three Formats. One Field.
Our equipment and field are configured for every major competitive format that matters in Florida — ASA (Archery Shooters Association) 3D, USA Archery indoor and outdoor target rounds, and NFAA (National Field Archery Association) indoor and outdoor competition. Whatever round you shoot, we train for it.
ASA 3D
Private ASA tournament field with full 3D animal targets at competition distances. We coach yardage estimation, shot placement, equipment setup, and the mental process required to score under pressure. Your bow is tuned and verified for the course before you ever compete — the same Archery Shooters Association format used at state qualifiers and the ASA Pro/Am circuit.
USA Archery & NFAA Indoor
Regulation target bails set up for USA Archery indoor distances and NFAA indoor formats including the 5-spot Vegas round. We build and tune indoor competition setups — bow fit, sight, arrows, release — and coach the process-based shooting technique required to shoot clean rounds consistently across both sanctioning bodies.
USA Archery & NFAA Outdoor
Outdoor range to 120+ yards with Labradar Doppler radar ballistic data and Labradar-verified custom sight tapes through Precision Cut Archery. We train, tune, and coach for the full outdoor target lineup — USA Archery 720, 1440, and FITA distances at 50m, 60m, and 70m, plus the NFAA outdoor field round.

Private. Lit. Regulation.
When you train here, you have the entire facility. No other groups. No waiting. No distractions. Your session is focused entirely on you and your development.
The field is equipped for all three competitive formats. When we say regulation, we mean it — the bails, the distances, and the target configurations match what you face on competition day.
- Full ASA 3D animal-target field setup
- Regulation bails for USA Archery Indoor
- Regulation bails for USA Archery Outdoor
- Full field lighting — evening sessions available
- Outdoor range to 120+ yards with Labradar capability
- Appointment-only — your session is never shared
Coaching That Builds Real Competitors.
Rob Gilbert holds USA Archery Level 3 Coach Certification — the highest tier focused on long-term individual archer development. Levels 4 and 5 are reserved for elite-team and high-performance national coaches. Level 3 is what produces archers who win.
His approach is process-based, technical, and individualized. No two archers get the same session because no two archers are the same. Form, equipment, shot process, and the mental game — coached together, not separately.
Every bow we build for a competitive archer is fitted, tuned, and verified on the same field you train on. The bow is part of the coaching process, not separate from it.

Our Athletes Win.
State championships. Perfect rounds. Archers who show up ready because they trained somewhere that takes competition seriously.

Youth Athletes. Adult Competitors.
Different archers, different goals, same standard. The training is built around the individual, not a generic curriculum.
Youth Athletes
Equipment that grows with the athlete. Technique built correctly from the start so it compounds over years of competition instead of needing a full rebuild later. A USA Archery Level 3 coach who knows the difference between pushing an athlete and burning them out.
From a first competition bow through state and national prep across every youth and scholastic format — ASA youth classes, USA Archery JOAD pipeline, S3DA (Scholastic 3-D Archery), NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program), 4-H Shooting Sports, and OAS (Outdoor Archery Series). Parents drive from across Florida for the combination of Level 3 NTS-certified coaching and a private training facility.
Adult Competitors
Adult competitive archery demands the same precision as youth, with the added challenge of ingrained habits. We coach to improve without breaking down what is already working — tuning your setup for your discipline, verifying sight tapes with Labradar Doppler radar, and training your shot process to hold under tournament pressure.
Whether you compete on the ASA Pro/Am circuit, qualify for the NFAA Vegas Shoot, shoot USA Archery state and national 720 / 1440 outdoor rounds, or run NFAA outdoor field rounds, the prep is the same: precise equipment, verified ballistics, and a repeatable shot process. Evening sessions available because most adult competitors have jobs and lives that do not stop for training.
One Straightforward Rate.
No package requirements. Book sessions as you need them. Custom builds priced by what is right for the athlete.
Tournament Prep Session
Covers everything — USA Archery certified coaching, bow tuning and setup, range time on the ASA field or regulation bails, shot-process work, and equipment consultation. One rate regardless of what we work on.
Built for the Athlete
Every competition bow is built to the individual archer — draw length, discipline, shot style, and goals. Authorized Elite Archery dealer, all major brands available. Contact us to discuss your athlete’s current setup and where they are headed.
Sarasota Archery Academy.
Archery Sarasota is the training home of Sarasota Archery Academy — a 501(c)(3) competitive youth team. If your athlete is ready to compete alongside other serious archers, train under certified coaches, and represent a program with a record of winning, the Academy is the next step.

Real answers to what competitive archers and parents ask before booking.
Do you offer tournament archery training for youth?
Yes. We work with youth archers under 18 across all competitive levels — from a first tournament bow through state and national competition preparation. We build equipment fitted to the individual athlete and coach technique, shot process, and the mental game required to compete seriously.
What tournaments do you prepare archers for?
Archery Sarasota prepares competitive archers for every major sanctioning body active in Florida: ASA (Archery Shooters Association) 3D events, USA Archery indoor and outdoor target rounds including the 720 and 1440, NFAA (National Field Archery Association) tournaments, S3DA (Scholastic 3-D Archery), NASP (National Archery in the Schools Program), OAS (Outdoor Archery Series), 4-H Shooting Sports, and additional regional and national circuits. Our private outdoor facility includes a regulation ASA tournament field with 3D animal targets and USA Archery target bails configured for both indoor and outdoor formats — so your athlete trains on the exact equipment and distances they will compete on, coached by a USA Archery Level 3 NTS-certified coach.
Do you offer evening training sessions?
Yes. Our field has full lighting and we offer evening sessions by appointment. This is specifically designed to accommodate student-athletes and working adults who cannot train during the day. Evening availability is rare for a private archery facility in Florida.
How much does tournament training cost?
All coaching and training is $100 per hour. Custom bow builds are priced based on equipment selected. There are no package requirements — you book sessions as you need them.
Can you build a competition bow for my child?
Yes. Archery Sarasota builds youth competition bows from every major manufacturer — Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, Bowtech, Bear, Prime, Darton, Mission, Diamond, Quest, Athens, Xpedition, Obsession, Martin, Sanlida, and Elite Archery (we are an authorized Elite dealer, but a competition bow should be selected for the archer's draw length, anchor, shot process, and competitive goals — not the brand on the riser). Youth-specific builds account for growth, draw-length progression, and developing form, with full setup and Labradar-verified tuning performed on the same private field your athlete will train and compete on. Bow selection is integrated into the coaching process, not a retail counter transaction.
How far do people travel to train here?
Competitive archers and families travel to Archery Sarasota from across the state of Florida: Tampa (about 60 miles north), Orlando (~130 miles), Miami (~230 miles), Daytona Beach (~190 miles), Gainesville (~180 miles), Naples and Fort Myers (~70 miles south), plus the surrounding Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, North Port, and Siesta Key communities. The combination of a private outdoor tournament field, USA Archery Level 3 NTS-certified coaching, Labradar Doppler radar tuning, custom Labradar-verified sight tapes through Precision Cut Archery, and authorized custom bow builds across every major manufacturer is not available at a standard archery shop anywhere else in Florida.
Start Training for Your Next Tournament.
